Day 3....I can kick my butt, literally!

So I had to take 2 days off due to a terrible, terrible cold. So now I'm really behind you guys. But I was excited to pick up Day 3 today and found that things were so much better! I still can't do every single push-up, but I found that I could actually kick my butt during the kicks, and I was jumping a lot higher during the jumping jacks & jump ropes. Woo hoo!

Day 2....Getting better...

This is me post-shred today. I look this (scary and) exhausted because I chose to add the shred in AFTER I did my regular work out at the gym today. Read: I am an idiot!

The push-ups are still sheer torture, but I was surprised that the workout was a little easier today! And those pretend jump-ropes are just awful.

An added bonus was that the floor in front of my TV is right under the heat vent, so that's like working out in a sauna. Wow, I need water.

Day 1

I was so inspired by you shredheads, that I rush-ordered the DVD and forced my husband to go out and buy me some 3 lb. weights. I wanted to start TODAY, because I'm headed to Florida on April 2 and want to be able to take some non-embarrassing photos of myself on vacation.

I've been working out about 5 times a week, 2 of those with a personal trainer, so I genuinely thought that Level 1 would be PIE and I could probably skip to Level 2 the second day. *Sigh* How wrong I was! My heart rate sky rocketed within the first 5 minutes, and my heart rate monitor reads that I burned 339 calories in just that first workout. Wow! I'll definitely be staying at Level 1 with my wimpy 3 lb. weights for the 10 days. Holy shit.

My husband sat and watched my work out while reading a book and laughing his ass off. If I can follow the video through that, I think I can do just about anything.

And the Hell Begins...

Code Name: Flabby-Go-Lucky

Tag Line: Jillian Michaels makes pap smears look like fun.

Weight: 218 (I just have to add that I'm 5'10" people)

Goal: to lose at least 10 lbs. by April 2, which is when I leave for vacay. However, my long term goal is to weigh 180 by July 3 (my son's second birthday).

Diet Plan: I've already been on a diet plan supervised by a physician, which is excruciating, but it works. It consists mostly of meal replacements and fruits & veggies.

Rules: No eating after 8pm, sticking to my diet plan, exercising every day.

Shred Plan: Level 1 w/ 3 lb. weights for 10 days, then on to Level 2.

(I'm not brave enough to do a full body before picture. Kristen, you rock! And yes, that is a cork in my son's mouth, but I'm not a bad mom--promise.)

By the way, here is my low-tech "real" family blog.
